There is no outdoor adventure where you can't sport your travel leggings for men, as we like to call meggings. First, they're incredibly comfortable and they’ve got your back when you're super active. Second, they're fun to wear and show off. If you're going to document every moment of your adventure trips on Instagram, you may as well look as cool as the activity you're performing. Are we right or are we right?

While we're thinking about beautiful places and new adventure destinations, why don't we do some digging and find what there is to do in the U.S.?

We're thinking something that you can do outdoors—and something exotic. Maybe even an activity that will boost your adrenaline levels. Let us now venture out and check into the best outdoor trips and activities you can find in the U.S.

We've compiled a top 10 list and done our best to rank them according to the overall fun and excitement levels. Also, we’ve tried to find something for everyone's tastes. So, let's begin.

In case you're having trouble finding the most suitable outdoor adventure travel, worry not, as we've done some digging and come up with this exciting list. So, let's dig in.

1. Caving in McMinnville, Tennessee

Now, this is more of a family-friendly option, although it's still a great thing to do if you're into exploring different sceneries and unusual natural landscapes. If this sounds like your thing, then head over to McMinnville, Tennessee and explore the legendary Cumberland Caverns. The full length of these natural underground tunnels is over 30 miles and there are tours available any day of the week. You'll rarely find a cave as captivating as this one.

2. Kayaking the Kauai Island Coast, Hawaii

Heading over to Hawaii for some sunnier adventure destinations, you can try kayaking around Kauai Island. There are plenty of group and individual tours that will offer not only exercise but also sightseeing of the mind-blowingly beautiful nature.

If you feel like taking it easy, you can just paddle a bit and enjoy the scenery of this volcanic island. Everyone should visit Hawaii at least once in their lifetime, and we would suggest Kauai as one of the best destinations there.

3. Ziplining over Royal Gorge, Colorado

This isn’t just like any other boring old zipline “adventure.” What makes it so unique is the fact that the length of the ride is around 2,000 feet, and the highest point is well over 1,200 feet crossing the Arkansas River. There are plenty of different adventure travel packages to find, some of which also include rafting tours and other sightseeing.

The vertical drop and the length of the ride wouldn't matter if it weren't for the beautiful scenery and nature of the Royal Gorge. Want to get rid of your fear of heights? Pack your bags, don’t forget your travel meggings, and head straight over to Colorado.

4. Cycling Through Going-to-the-Sun Road, Montana

The U.S. provides thousands of miles of different cycling routes, east to west and north to south. To satisfy true cycling lovers, we thought to include Going-to-the-Sun Road. Located in Montana, this scenic path wiggles and winds up the Rocky Mountains, one of western America's most beloved destinations.

This 50-miles-long road goes through the Glacier National Park, and its tallest point is over 6,600 feet above sea level. This has been a go-to location for all cycling enthusiasts and professionals for years now. However, it's a bit of an advanced route, so take caution when planning this adventure.

5. Flying an Aerobatic Plane in Las Vegas, Nevada

This is a bit of a different and more expensive choice of an outdoor adventure trip, but there is just no way to avoid such an extreme adrenaline-pumping activity as flying on the aerobatic plane. And—the best part—you'll also be allowed to take over the controls for a while!

If you've spent years wondering what it's like to live Top Gun in real life, head right over and experience high Gs in Las Vegas, Nevada. Just make sure not to eat before the ride and not to spend all your money on gambling.

6. Base Jumping in Twin Falls, Idaho

Before we get into it, BASE jumping is not for everyone. It's only for the highly trained and physically prepared individuals who are looking for a new thrill-seeking experience. It isn't like your family-friendly imitation of an extreme sport. BASE jumping is to be taken seriously, and you should consider it only if you're 100% sure that you're ready for such an activity.

If you're feeling prepared, then Twin Falls in Idaho is your adventure destination. This cozy little city is a go-to place for all the lovers of the sport, and the jumps are done from the I. B. Perrine Bridge. It's almost 500 feet above the Snake River, making it one of the highest bridges in the country. Sounds exciting, doesn't it?

7. Skydiving in Pismo, California

With a list like this one, there's just no way not to mention any location or activity in California. Since it's one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, it's no wonder that the whole state is packed with countless adventure trips and activities.

The one we singled out here is skydiving, particularly the kind of thing you can find over the beach in Pismo. There are many different jumps available, all varying in height. The most exciting part is that you'll be able to look at the California coastline in a free fall from as high as 10,000 feet. Just imagine the view of the almost flat surface of the Earth from such a height.

Not as extreme as BASE jumping, you'll also need to be careful when deciding whether this activity is for you. It's great if this is your first jump, but make sure to listen to your instructors and follow all procedures.

8. Canyoneering in Moab, Utah

Just like with caving adventures, this is an activity for those who like to explore unusual geological formations and exciting scenery. However, canyoneering provides even more excitement and can also be a great way to exercise.

For this U.S. adventure travel, we're heading over to Utah and the surrounding areas of the city of Moab. There are so many exciting narrow locations and even hidden lakes that are only accessible this way.

To make things even more exciting, some tours also offer hiking, cycling, rafting, and plenty of other stuff. Some would argue that Utah is not the most exciting place in the U.S., but, to a true outdoor-loving adventurer, it's definitely a blast.

9. Skiing and Snowboarding in Jackson Hole, Wyoming

Of course, with plenty of ski resorts all around the country, there's no way to avoid skiing and snowboarding on the list of best outdoor adventures in the U.S. From all the different skiing locations, we're going for Jackson Hole in Wyoming.

Why? Well, because of all the exciting steeps and slopes for advanced skiers. In fact, it's a place where all lovers of extreme skiing should go.

While it doesn't really have a reputation for being a family-oriented destination, there are some beginner and intermediate tracks now. However, for the most part, it's the place where all the expert skiers and snowboarders go.

10. Heli-Ski in Anchorage, Alaska

Okay, sure, we love skiing and everything, but what if we took it to another extreme? Off-track or off-piste skiing and snowboarding are only for the most ambitious lovers of these sports. But what if you really want to go where no ski lift will ever be built? These places are so wild that they're only accessible by helicopters.

Yeah, heli-skiing is a thing, and it's an extreme form of an outdoor adventure. It's the ultimate challenge for every skier, as it might even involve some life-threatening situations. If you feel like you're ready, then head over to Anchorage, Alaska to the Chugach Mountains. Just a vast snowy terrain with plenty of off-road skiing for everyone!
